Catie’s Thoughts – Gratitude

Catie and her family are sitting around the Thanksgiving dinner table

Journal Entry: Nov 23, 2021

This has been one strange year. I have to say it’s been kind of hard to stay in an attitude of gratitude. As we’re getting close to Thanksgiving I’ve been trying to find more things to be grateful for, even if they are just little things. I’ve heard that it doesn’t really matter what you’re grateful for, it just matters that your heart is filled with a sense of being blessed with an abundance of good things. If I look back on this year I know it could have been a lot worse.

There are so many people out there who need my prayers because they are really going through some tough times. No one in my family is sick or in the hospital or been in an accident or lost their job. Just right there I have a lot to be thankful for. So when I get into a pitty party mood I need to slap myself out of it and think on all that is going right in my life and in the life of my kids and family. Right now, more than ever we need to keep our vibrations high and try to put out only love and gratitude into the world no matter what the media is telling us, no matter what we hear from others., no matter what happens around us. There are a lot of good things happening behind the scenes that only God knows. I need to be grateful that ultimately God is in control and he’s got this all figured out. In the end God wins. Light always overtakes the dark. Good is always victorious over evil. Focus on all that is going right and be grateful for the simple things in life, that is my motto this holiday season. Let me just sit back, eat the popcorn and watch how this movie unfolds in perfect timing and be grateful for every spark of goodness I experience along the way.
